Tribal Style Bellydance is a fusion of modern and folkloric dances of North Africa and the Middle East with dance movements from India, Central Asia, and Spain. Performed as a group, or “tribe”, Synchronized Group Improvisation is a “lead & follow” format that uses a language of cues and combinations, allowing dancers to communicate while performing, thus creating seamless transitions which can have a mesmerizing effect on both the audience and performer.
Join Laylia for a break-down of the most common basic tribal lead & follow steps and combinations… with arm cues! Learn about some of the concepts behind the lead-and-follow format, and what it can do for you. A fun, but challenging, peek into the varied world of Tribal Style Bellydance!
Bring: Finger cymbals, a long swingy tassel belt, paper & pen for notes, water bottle.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Beginning Bellydance class, or teacher permission.
